Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, deep breath in slow breath out, allowing your thoughts to roll around your head and disappear on the out breath allowing your body to relax and your mind to remain alert.
On the next in breath – focus on your arms, notice the tension in the muscles, now allow the muscles to relax, feel your hands relax, as you allow yourself to relax deeper and deeper.
On the next in breath focus on your legs, notice the tension in the muscles, now allow the muscles to relax, feel the tension drain from your legs as you relax deeper and deeper.
On the next in breath – focus on your pelvis, feel the tension in the pelvis, on the out breath allow it to relax – as you relax deeper and deeper.
Now focus on the chest area – feel the shallowness of your breath, feel how high it is in your chest, how anxiety and worry is breathed into the chest area – feel yourself deepen your breath as you draw it deeper into your body, as you do, feel a deep sense of relaxation spread through the body as your breathing slows and you begin to release all tension from deep within the body as you relax deeper and deeper.
On the next in breath feel your awareness being drawn in through the solar plexus, your stomach area and find yourself in the internal corridor – if you can’t see then sense.
In this space – become aware of your fear of confrontation in relationships, feel the oppression of this energy as you approach the room that says – volcano people in my life. These are the people who simmer and then explode – they explode outwardly or inwardly with passive aggression.
This is the energy of the people who do at a deeper level frighten you. As you open the door and go inside – see or sense who is there. As you enter they all line up – in front of them is their mini volcano – see or sense how active their one is. As you go towards them –see or sense what is spewing from their volcano – what feelings does their lava represent – does it show itself to you as goo or words sprouting from their mounds.
As you observe each one see or sense what it is they’re actually feeling under the explosions they are trying to suppress. What the real emotions are. Notice how when you do this – you immediately become much less frightened of their power over you.
In your mind go to the person with the most raging volcano or the one you feel pulled towards. As you go to them – say in your mind to them – what is it that you’re trying to explain?
As you ask the question feel their energy towards you change, it’s no longer hostile it’s humble. If it takes a while, wait until it’s humble. The more you’re able to observe it, the more the intensity relaxes.
Observe this energy until it starts to transform, where you can see the growth even if they can’t. You can see the growth in your own understanding. As you do, feel a deep feeling of love and acceptance begin to spread from the solar plexus right the way through your body. In your mind, thank the person for showing you – as you thank them feel their energy disperse and any intensity evaporate as you return from the solar plexus with a deep feeling of calm spreading through your body, feeling your awareness spreading through the body…
In your mind imagine tree roots emanating from the bottom of your feet, imagine them planting into the ground as you feel your awareness sinking deep into your every day world as you focus on your breathing and very gently bring your awareness back into the room and when you are ready – open your eyes.
