You give, you do and you perform.
It feels safer that way. If you’re busy and useful, maybe you won’t be criticised. Maybe you’ll be enough.
But none of this is your fault. You learned to perform to feel safe, to earn approval and to protect yourself from criticism.
Yet all this constant doing can quietly disconnect you from your true self, leaving you feeling exhausted and unseen.
For many Intuitive-Sensitive People (iSPs), productivity becomes an identity.
If you keep performing, maybe you’ll avoid judgment. If you keep proving your worth, maybe you’ll be protected.
But the truth is: you are not your output.
You are your essence and this constant push to perform is costing you your peace, your clarity and your connection to what truly matters.
There comes a time when you no longer need to explain why you’re choosing rest, honesty and authenticity over constant doing.
You don’t need to justify why you’re stepping away from the noise. You’re allowed to be enough without performing.
Anthony Hopkins, despite immense success, has shared that he reached a point where he stopped living for approval and began living for authenticity.
“My philosophy is: it’s none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and I accept everything.”
This realisation helped him stop living for external approval. Instead he chose authenticity. It’s a powerful reminder that your worth isn’t tied to what others think, or what you do.
This is the start of your journey towards clarity, calm and being deeply yourself.
You don’t have to perform your way to peace. It’s yours to reclaim, one gentle step at a time.
Reflection question:
Where in your life are you still performing to earn your worth, rather than allowing yourself to simply be?
Consider sharing your reflections with Heidi and the community in the private Facebook group. It’s a safe space to witness, share, and support. You may be surprised how many others feel the same.
The Mind & Body Workbook guides you to gently see and release old survival roles that no longer serve you.
Already have your copy? Turn to Day 16 (on page 56) of your Mind & Body Workbook to explore how stepping back from performance helps you reclaim clarity and authenticity.
Each workbook is paired with a companion course.
In Week 1, you’ll explore how the body stores emotions, and how to stop absorbing what’s not yours.
Find the secret link on Page 7 of the workbook to unlock your free companion course (normally sold for £197. It’s free to you when you invest in the workbook above.)
Each week, we meet inside the private group. Heidi is live during Power Hour to answer your questions and explore what surfaced.
You don’t need to “know the right thing to say.” You just need to show up.
