At the height of her fame, Lady Gaga was known for feeling everything: her audience’s pain, her team’s stress and even the world’s expectations.
This same sensitivity that made her music magnetic also left her exhausted.
Then came her quiet shift: therapy, silence and boundaries.
She learned that real empathy doesn’t mean absorbing another person’s emotion; it means reading it, understanding it and staying centred enough to choose her response.
That’s what it means to read peoples’ emotions clearly: to see them, without absorbing them.
If you’re intuitive, you’ve probably walked into a room and instantly felt what everyone’s carrying: tension, sadness, and worry, and you thought it was yours.
That’s not intuition failing you; it’s your system picking up emotion from the astral field, the collective space where everyone’s thoughts and feelings flow.
The problem isn’t that you are sensing it. The problem is that you are absorbing it.
You learned long ago that emotions, especially other people’s, were either too much to handle or not welcome at all.
So your body built automatic defences:
But intuition requires connection to emotion, your own and others’.
The real skill isn’t to shut emotion out, it’s to stay open long enough to feel what’s there, without mistaking it for your own.
Next time you walk into a room or feel your mood shift suddenly:
You’ll notice clarity returning almost instantly. Emotion can then be read clearly, without being absorbed.
Reading people clearly, without absorbing their stuff.
The goal isn’t to block emotion, it’s to interpret it cleanly, so your intuition becomes guidance, not overwhelm.
Think back to a moment this week when you felt someone’s mood shift: maybe tension in a meeting, sadness in a friend or frustration in a family member.
Ask yourself: “What did I feel and what was actually mine?”
Notice the difference between sensing and absorbing.
Share what you discovered, even one line, in the private group, because your new awareness might help someone else learn to feel clearly without carrying the weight.

1. Workbook
In Achieve Success: Developing Intuition, Day 11 (p. 42) shows you how to read emotional energy without losing your balance.
You’ll learn how to sense what’s happening around you while keeping your energy steady, which is the difference between empathic clarity and emotional overload.
If you already have your copy, work through Day 11, and then notice how your body responds when you enter a room.
If you don’t have a copy, click below to get one and begin practising the kind of empathy that restores rather than drains you.
